MITT’s doors are closing, but their contributions will open doors to opportunities for years to come

The unexpected and disheartening news of Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology’s (MITT) closing its door is still reverberating throughout the province, especially with the many small businesses that developed meaningful, long-standing partnerships with the trades school, including ours – ClearSecure Manufacturing and Distribution. ClearSecure had the privilege of partnering with the school to help prepare students for meaningful careers in the trades, and in our case, glazier training.
MITT was more than an educational institution; it served as a committed partner in finding solutions to the many workforce development challenges and opportunities in Manitoba. As a small but growing manufacturing business, we benefited immensely from the MITT micro-credential glazier training course in conjunction with Manitoba Construction Sector Council (MCSC) and other industry partners.
Beyond ClearSecure, MITT played an essential part in the workforce development and infrastructure development strategies, and while its doors to MITT will soon be closing – forever – its impact and contributions will be felt for years and even decades from now through the work of its students, staff, and supporters.
ClearSecure expresses its heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for MITT’s team and their students for our collaborative years of partnership and passion for serving our province and beyond.
